Geoff Ashcroft Community

We aim to help improve emotional well being and reduce social isolation for people in Tower Hamlets. Some people come to The Geoff Ashcroft Community to connect with old friends. Some people come to invest in new ones. Some people come to try creative activities at their own pace. Some people come to have a bit of space in a busy day. Some people come because they need a chat in an otherwise empty day. Some people come to enjoy a good lunch with friends. Some people come to cook lunch or help make community happen in other way.

Other details

Who can use this service?
Anyone! but especially for people who feel socially isolated or struggle with poor mental health
Referral required?
Referral and availability notes

People can just turn up, however, it is often best to get in touch first especially for those who find it difficult to turn up somewhere new. When a person has a mental health worker it is helpful to let us know so that we can work together.

On Tuesdays we have a craft group in the morning followed by lunch (prepared by a community member).  There's time to chat or finish off your artwork after lunch.

On Thursdays we have a reflection group focused on one of the six ways to well being (connecting, giving, journeying, taking notice, keeping active, learning).

We are particular interested in how people's faith journey can influence their mental health and sense of well being, and welcome people of all faiths and none.
