Creative Lifestyle CIC

Creative Lifestyle CIC started as a Social Enterprise in 2007 and is based in Hackney. We have delivered over 30 programmes, teaching and guiding people through creative workshops using holistic and therapeutic methods. Our students learn how to improve their homes, choose the creative future that is right for them through employment or self - employment, meet new friends or give them the confidence to start their own enterprise or employment.

Our creative programmes include:

Cake baking and Decorating
Sewing for fashion and the home
Natural hair maintenance
Bring and fix it – up cycling used household items and clothes
Jewellery making
Soap making
Hand knitting

These workshops can run from a 2 day taster to several weeks’ programmes. They include resources and materials and are based in a Hackney community centre where we run courses part funded by The Hackney Learning Trust, Hackney Council and other local and national funders. We also run workshops on behalf of Children’s Centres at their venue.

Some of our projects target particular learners such as African/Caribbean women living with the challenges of mental illness and or emotional distress due to a history
of abuse, poor health or other occurrence in their lives.

We often work in partnership with other community self-help groups who provide wellbeing sessions giving extra support. We also work with deaf students, students with learning difficulties and families through Children’s Centres. This gives them the opportunity to learn a creative skill in a safe environment.
